On our trip to Japan in April 2018, I prioritized filming over photography for the first time. My main goal was to collect some good film footage. We visited the temples of Kyoto, spent a few nights in a Buddhist monastery in Koya San, encountered the tame deer of Nara, relaxed in the natural baths in Kurokawa Onsen, met a marathon-experienced udon cook in Takachiho, and immersed ourselves in the sights and sounds of Tokyo. We had not been to a country that was this different and foreign in every aspect. The place was very impressive indeed. Perhaps that is the reason why it took me two years to complete this short film of our trip.
